FAQ — frequently asked questions

Account and access

Do I need an account to play?

No. Training and exam mode work immediately — including as a guest. An account helps when you want permanent progress and ranked play, daily challenges, duels and clubs.

What does an account give me?

Permanent XP, levels and day streaks, rating and league placement, access to leaderboards, daily challenges, duels, friends and clubs.

Will I lose guest progress?

As a guest, progress lives only in your browser. When you create an account you can migrate it (XP, domain levels, day streak).

Is the app free?

Yes. During early access, guest play and creating an account are free. We do not rule out introducing additional paid features in the future.

What does early access mean?

Algebro is actively in development. Features, balance and the interface may change before the full release. Your feedback helps shape the product.

Gameplay and progression

What's the difference between XP and rating?

  • XP — grows from every game; raises your account level and completes quests.
  • Elo rating — changes in ranked modes; reflects skill and determines your league.

Why wasn't my ranked result counted?

Ranked mode uses anti-cheat. Results may be rejected for: tab focus loss, finishing too fast, unrealistically fast or repetitive answer timings. You may still get XP, but not rating.

Why didn't my daily result hit the leaderboard?

Similar fair-play rules as ranked — focus loss or suspiciously fast answers. You only get one attempt per day; if rejected, the next attempt is tomorrow.

How does difficulty adaptation work?

Each domain has its own level. After a series the system checks accuracy and speed. At ≥85% correct (with good timing) level goes up; below 60% it goes down. The target zone is 60–85% correct.

How many math domains are there?

13: from basic operations to fractions, equations, logarithms, trigonometry and word problems. Adaptive play defaults to 7 core domains; you can enable more in settings or pick them in exam mode.

Leaderboards and community

How do I appear on the global leaderboard?

You need an account, public leaderboard visibility and at least one ranked game played (for the Elo board).

Can friends see my private profile?

Yes — friends can open a private profile. Others only see what you share in statistics (or a privacy message).

Do duels change rating?

No. Duels award XP and show in activity, but do not affect Elo.

What if nobody accepts my duel?

The challenge expires after your chosen window (1 hour to 30 days) and is marked expired.

Technical

What languages are supported?

Polish and English — switch in account settings.

Which devices work?

In a browser on desktop, tablet and phone. Guest mode requires browser localStorage.

Who is Algebro for?

Students and anyone who wants to stay sharp at math — from basic operations to exam-level material.
